AutoCoach is an automatic driving school in Tunbridge Wells offering calm, structured driving lessons for beginners, developing drivers and those preparing for their driving test.
The approach goes beyond simply teaching the mechanics of driving. Lessons are designed to help learners understand what they are doing, make safe decisions independently and build genuine confidence behind the wheel.
For learners who struggle with nerves, anxiety, self-doubt or overthinking, AutoCoach also brings specialist experience in confidence coaching and performance psychology to the learning process.
AutoCoach combines structured driving instruction with a coaching-led approach to help learners develop both driving skill and driving confidence.
Based in Tunbridge Wells and also serving Uckfield and surrounding areas, lessons are tailored to individual ability, experience, confidence and goals.
Meet Rob MacDougall
I’m Rob, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and the person behind AutoCoach.
I’ve always been interested in what happens in the mind when someone gets behind the wheel. For some learners, driving comes relatively naturally. For others, anxiety, overthinking or a lack of confidence can make learning feel much harder than it needs to be.
My approach combines structured driving instruction with coaching and performance psychology techniques where they can help.

These figures are based on AutoCoach pupils who took their practical driving test during this 12-month period.
These results reflect a simple philosophy:
